Transportation to The Airport
Whether you've just arrived to the city or you're about to leave, you can easily reach the Adnan Menderes Airport. You may prefer to use use municipality buses, the suburban line (İZBAN), Havaş buses or taxis to go to the Adnan Menderes Airport which is 15 km from the city center.

Serving at 17 stations between Evka 3 and Fahrettin Altay, The İzmir Metro relieves urban transportation significantly. Also, it's possible to transfer to İZBAN Light Rail System from Hilal and Halkapınar stations of the İzmir Metro.
The Turkish Lira is the official currency of Turkey. Credit cards are widely used and accepted. Visitors can use their Visa and Master Cards. ATMs can be found all around the country. All of them offer foreign language options and pay out Turkish liras. Foreign exchange offices may be found throughout the country. Operating hours are mostly Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 17:00. In the arrivals section of Atatürk and Sabiha Gökçen Airports, there are 7/24 open exchange offices. Also the exchange offices located in shopping malls and touristic areas are open later and on Saturdays.

Turkey's electrical system operates on 220 volts, 50 Hz, with round-prong European-style plugs that fit into recessed wall sockets. You will need a voltage converter, and plug adapter in order to use U.S. appliances. We recommend getting a universal adapter and converter kit.
